For Izakaya Kiwami in Nha Trang, NC1 Design brought a slice of Japanese dining culture into a Vietnamese context. The design embraces dimly lit interiors, muted textures, and natural finishes to evoke the understated warmth of a traditional izakaya.
Curtains and partitions guide movement while creating intimacy, ensuring each table feels private yet connected to the atmosphere of the whole room. A bar lined with bottles becomes the focal point, glowing gently against dark surfaces. At the façade, vertical charred-wood slats (inspired by yakisugi) lend depth and rhythm, complemented by minimal signage and a neutral concrete frame.
