For JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), NC1 Design developed the Sake Handbook—an illustrated guidebook introducing Japanese sake culture to Vietnamese audiences. The project aimed to bridge cultural understanding and promote sake appreciation in Vietnam through a clear, engaging, and approachable format.
The handbook design combines friendly illustrations, infographics, and concise explanations to demystify sake production, tasting methods, and food pairings. A dual-color palette of yellow and blue provides strong visual contrast, ensuring both readability and memorability. Layouts are structured for easy navigation, balancing informative diagrams with playful character illustrations that make the content accessible to newcomers.
Beyond functioning as an educational tool, the handbook embodies JETRO’s mission of cultural exchange, positioning sake not only as a beverage but also as a gateway to Japanese tradition and hospitality.
